As part of our Community Reading Program, AMARILLO READS, the Amarillo Public Library is pleased to offer English as a Second Language and Citizenship Classes. The classes are free, but registration is required. There are three opportunities each year to enroll: Winter/Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
For the first time, AMARILLO READS will offer a Citizenship Class taught in Spanish as well as the usual class in English. Classes are free, but registration is required and interested students can register for either class at these times. INS rules require that students planning to take the US Citizenship Class in a language other than English must have had their green card for at least 20 years and be at least 50 years old OR have held a green card for at least 15 years and be at least 55 years old. The Spanish language class will meet Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 AM and classes in English will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Classes begin September 2 and take place at the Downtown Library. If you are unable to attend registration on August 25, please contact Pat Mullin at 378-6038.

ESL Classes teach BASIC English.
Classes are held in the Downtown Library at 413 SE 4th.
